Female Students in Electrical and Computer Engineering

At Texas A&M University

Home

Engineering is a growing profession, yet it is still a very male-dominated field.  The purpose of this site is to explain a little bit about Electrical Engineering (specifically at Texas A&M University), and why women can be engineers, too!

Electrical Engineers have one of the highest starting salaries, according to CNN Money (http://money.cnn.com/2005/04/15/pf/college/starting_salaries/index.htm) the average starting salary for Electrical Engineers in 2005 was over $52,000.  This is for students coming out of college with a 4-year bachelor’s degree.

The amount of females who have enrolled in undergraduate engineering degrees has increased over the past several years, but it could be increasing at a more rapid rate.
